He’s the newbie at school who randomly walks up to her, and eventually takes her on the most exciting adventure of her life. Hopscotch becomes her first best friend. Together, they show the importance of kindness. Let’s go on an adventure with the two friends!

The idea for this book came to me in a dream in 2018 — two little frogs meeting randomly on the playground at school, and leaping into the unknown together. Literally. When I woke up, I couldn’t stop thinking about them and knew I was given something that I needed to share with the world. And so, I wrote "Trilly Meets Hopscotch: Her First Best Friend", as a two-in-one story and colouring book. Their friendship is new and real, and their adventures are full of the kinds of moments I believe matter most: kindness, courage, and the joy of imagination.
I wrote this story because I wanted to celebrate those values to remind children (and maybe grown-ups too) that being brave means doing something even when scared, that kindness makes the world better, that treating people with love and care is important, and that the best adventures are the ones we take together. Through these frog friends, I hope readers see the magic in everyday moments and the joy that comes from honouring and appreciating true friendship.
